Mental Tricks To Improve Your Workouts!

Rest, Recovery, Nutrition are all important when being prepared to smash a workout, but it’s the mental preparation beforehand that will connect your focus, energy, and effort into every workout!

Create A Positive Attitude!

Creating a positive attitude is crucial when it comes getting workout results. Think about how much more energized and focused you are when you’re feeling positive. Start by using positive quotes, positive music or your own gratitude practice in which you acknowledge things you’re grateful for before each workout- what positive changes will this workout help you achieve?!

Connect To Your Goals!

Understanding your goals before a workout will remind you of what you’re working toward. It will also provide you with a sense of purpose, encouraging you to train harder and make your goals a reality.

Whether your goal is to lose body fat, build muscle, or be able to do a full press or pull-up, remind yourself of your goals by taking a minute to yourself before each workout to gather strength and drive!

Know Why!

Knowing “why” you train will help you stay committed and focused during your workouts. Is it for Health? Body Image? Strength? Energy? It’s what will pull you through those tough workouts when you just aren’t feeling it. Knowing why you’re here to train will act as a boost for energy, effort, and hard work during the workout.

Positive Self-Talk!

Studies show that positive self-talk helps athletes enhance their overall performance. But you don’t have to be an athlete to benefit from this!

Use positive self-talk on your way to your workout, during the workout, or both.

‘I am strong and powerful and I will smash this workout’

‘With every exercise I do, I am getting stronger’

‘Training makes my body feel healthy and strong!’

‘I am full of energy, I’ve got this!’

Visualise Your Success!

Visualisation is a form of meditation and something I practice daily! We know that successful athletes use visualising to aid their performance, so why cant you! The more you visualise yourself doing a certain exercise, the more success you will have in completing it!

Visualise yourself working out, feeling good, strong, and energized and having one of the best workouts you’ve ever had.

When you are next at Evo, before the class starts, close your eyes and take a minute to yourself! Focus on why you are here today, how you want to feel during and after the session, breathe deeply and feel energy flow through your body!

Enjoy your session!
