Every single day you are ignoring the most important person in your life – You!
Your body is constantly sending you signals – ‘i’m stressed’ ‘i’m tired’ ‘i’m anxious’ ‘i’m hungry/ thirsty / full’ etc….
But more often then not, we choose to ignore those messages, as they do not fit in with our busy lives and routine.
For quite a few years I suffered with stress and anxiety – to the point where I was making myself seriously ill –not only mentally – headaches, not sleeping at night, but also physically – sickness, night sweats, panic attacks, racing heart, tension, exhaustion – you name it, it was affecting me!
My body and mind were both giving me MASSIVE signals that I needed to do something to help myself out! I could eat all the healthy food in the world and train every week BUT if I was ignoring my body and causing imbalances – my health would never be at its best and for me – that is a huge priority to enable me to lead a happy life!
This is one of the reasons I became a Meditating Veggie Yogi – Don’t panic – I am not asking this of you haha, but it is important that we become just as good at listening and respecting the wisdom of our bodies as well as what we put into it and how we train.
At some points in our days/weeks/months we stop listening to what we really need. We become too busy with our lifestyle to listen or respond to those messages.
I believe that our bodies do not lie, when something difficult is facing us, they often manifest as symptoms – sometimes small, sometimes scarily large. Either way, they act as a red flag, letting us know to stop, slow down and work out what we need to do.
How do you start to listen?
You probably already know deep down if you are giving your body enough attention and chances are – you are not, but you are probably not alone in this either!
Some examples you may feel on a regular basis and how to start acting;
Headaches – what is your water intake – are you drinking all day everyday?
Overeating – eating even when you are full – why are you really doing this? What is upsetting/stressing/worrying you-how can you combat this?
Food Cravings – is your body lacking vitamins and minerals – how much fresh and healthy produce are you eating on a daily basis to provide you with the right nutrients to balance your body and provide optimum health?
Low Energy levels – caffeine and sugar really is only ever a quick fix! Look at your diet/exercise regime –how can you make it better? What is your sleep pattern like?
Tired/Aching body – are you over training? Are you too inactive? Finding a balance of training a few times a week.
These are just a few simple tips to help you start to really listen and look after your body’s health!
Listening to your body will take you to new levels of self-awareness so you can really help yourself to lead a life full of well-being, energy and vitality!
Your body is precious; it is our vehicle for awakening. Treat it with care!
