How To Stop A Food Binge Before It Happens!

How To Stop A Food Binge Before It Happens!

All of us have been prone to overeating at some stage in our lives, whether we do it through healthy or unhealthy foods. We eat, eat eat, trying to feel better in some way and once our bodies catch up with how much we have consumed – we feel way way worse!

A few days/weeks/months pass and then guess what….

We do it AGAIN!

Wow have we got it in for ourselves!?!

There are 4 main culprits in everyday life that if we let them get the better of ourselves – they can really mess with our healthy lifestyles.

Hunger – skipping meals – blood sugars are low and your body sends you signals to act and find food fast (try and eat regular meals full of protein, veg and/or fruit)

Anger – stress and frustration trigger your body to find an outlet to get a chemical release. (use exercise to release tension and stress-not comfort food)

Loneliness – loneliness is very real, even when you are surrounded by people and something I struggled with for years, but comfort food and bingeing can make you feel even more isolated and really will not help you in the long run.

Tiredness – when you are sleep deprived, the chemicals that regulate appetite become unbalanced, and your body tries to compensate for your lack of energy by demanding sugars! (sleep, meditation, water intake can all increase energy)

All of the above can easily affect us on a regular basis and if we don’t look after ourselves, we can fall victim to start living to eat instead of eating to live!

So take control back!

Being aware of what and why you are eating gives you the control to choose how you want to feel once you have finished your meal.

Remember a time when you did overeat and choose to learn from that experience – how did your body feel right after you ate and then half hour after that – chances are – not good!

So don’t let your hormones/ circumstances/ mental noise get the better of you!

Focus on eating to provide your body with the energy to do amazing things for you and in your life – if you eat for energy every day – imagine what you could do with all that beautiful passion!

Eating fresh, healthy foods will help you on your journey with being the person you visualise to be now and in the future – use that vision to choose the right options and the right nutritious foods to fuel and create energy to enjoy your beautiful life.

Mindful eating is when;

We sit in the beautiful moment

We are aware of our bodies

We are aware of the food on our plates

We are aware of how we want to feel

This is a declaration of love and well-being to our body
