Lost Motivation? How To Still Blast Your Workouts When You’re Flagging!

Some days with all the good intention in the world, you get to your Evo session and you feel a little, tired, sluggish, going through the motions rather then raring to kick 100% of your butt in the class!

This happens from time to time! Life, work, stress can all lead us to having off days in fitness.

Once you are there and committed, how do you pick yourself up and motivate yourself to achieving as much as possible in that session? The points below are ways that I use to ensure that whenever and wherever I train, I thank my body and mind for showing up and letting me have this moment to increase my health, well-being and happiness.

Water – when you know you are going to class, drink lots of water the whole day leading up to it. Water is essential for our bodies to keep hydrated, full of energy, and lubricate our joints and muscles helping performance and stamina.

Mantra – When you are struggling to find your rhythm – speak your positive mantra. Positive mantras have a way of connecting us to the moment and helping us dig deep when you feel your energy zapping!

‘I am strong and beautiful’

‘I feel full of energy’

‘This workout is fun and so rewarding for my body’

‘I am challenging my body to change my body’

Focus on movement and breathing – Take one exercise at a time, the great thing at Evo is that you really do not have time to think about anything other then the movement at hand! Focus on breathing throughout the exercise (increasing oxygen to your muscles, helping your endurance) and mentally break down the workout into smaller chunks, allowing your self to feel a sense of accomplishment with every section you complete-Evo Warrior Style!

Rest – so important and usually so overlooked. Rest gives your body time to strengthen, recover and repair so every time that you hit the next workout, you can smash your way through and continue to make lasting and visible results. Make sure sleep and rest day’s fit into your schedule!

Some days, arriving to class, you may feel weaker, less energy, your self-judgment is up, but remember, that’s just mental negative noise- is it important? No!

This is –

You showed up!

You are ready to take on this challenge!

To better yourself, to be stronger, fitter, leaner, happier and by using the points above to help you, you are going in to this session with one hell of a fighting spirit!
