So after the mammoth Christmas build up and enjoying yourself,
perhaps a little too much over the Christmas period, most people are looking
forward to starting on a good note in the New Year.
New Year resolutions get a bad rap, but I think they can be good as
long as you make any goal measurable! Saying you wish to lose 3 stone by March
but no idea how or where to begin, will overwhelm you and build up more
negative thoughts then good!
Here’s how to make positive measurable fitness goals and feel good
Set realistic goals! For example…..
‘I will train x2-3 a week in January’
‘I will make healthier lifestyle choices by having nuts and fruit
for my snacks’
‘I will drink 2 litres of water a day’
Small changes and setting
goals month to month will have a more positive effect, as you will see the
results quicker and be proud of each milestone you meet along the way,
therefore being much more likely to stick to your goals to get to your long
You will need to help yourself by eliminating all processed food and
drink you have a weakness for. Replace these foods with healthier alternatives
such as fruit, veg, nuts and water.
Always have spare training clothes in the car so you never have any
excuse to miss a session.
Hold yourself accountable, if you stop training or eating to fuel
your body correctly, you are the only person who suffers. You and I both know
that you would rather live in a beautiful state then a suffering one so make
sure you keep hitting your goals.
All about the exercise!
