Super Power Your Training With These Superfoods!

I can’t imagine one day without Superfoods! They improve my workouts and recovery, my mood, health and overall body composition.

Stress, poor nutrition, and lack of sleep can all rob your energy, but luckily, there are some awesome Superfoods that can improve your workouts to give you just that incredible boost you’re looking for!

Caffeine, fruit or carbs can give you a surge in energy, but the energy rush wont last long. So try using some of these amazing raw Superfoods alongside natural proteins and veg/fruit to really reap the benefits all day long!

Maca
Maca increases your body’s natural energy levels to improve workouts and it’s a great source of protein for your muscles! Maca contains 20 amino acids in just one tablespoon, which is usually all most people need to get results. Maca provides long lasting energy, reduces stress, inflammation and muscle cramps. Using it directly after workouts help your muscles recover more quickly. Although it increases energy, Maca is not a stimulant but rather an adaptogen so it adjusts to your body needs to restore a sense of balance.

Cacao
Cacao is by far one of the top foods to have right before a workout. It’s high in magnesium, which provides your body with energy and reduces stress at the same time. Cacao relieves inflammation and its theobromine content acts as a mild stimulant giving you plenty of long-lasting energy without the crash of caffeine and sugar. Cacao stimulates dopamine in the brain, improving your mood and motivation.

Acai Berries
All berries are fantastic for you, but I am a HUGE fan of Acai! Acai contains omega 3 fatty acids and contains a large amount of anthocyanins that improve blood flow, reduce inflammation, and protect the brain and nervous system.

Chia Seeds
Chia helps hold water in the body to prevent dehydration and it contains large amounts of magnesium, omega 3 fatty acids, iron, zinc, B vitamins, and calcium. All of these nutrients act as a super fuel for your muscles, your heart, your brain, and your nervous system. Just one tablespoon per serving is all you need to energize your body, ward off hunger and give you just the boost of energy you’re looking for.

Baobab
Baobab is one of the highest sources of Vitamin C on the planet and is an incredible brain and energy-booster! The Vitamin C in Baobab helps reduce inflammation, combat fatigue and protects the immune system. Vitamin C is important to prevent muscle cramping, reduce soreness and can help put that extra pep in your step you need right before a workout.

You only need a small serving so they last a really long time. Superfoods are easy to add to a smoothie pre-workout or you can just blend them with some almond milk, raw vegan protein powder and ice for a quick energy shake!
