Have You Got Back Appeal?

Training your back not only strengthens it and improves your posture, but it makes you look longer and more defined!

A sculpted, lean back is something most of us look to have to increase our confidence and to show off our hard work in the gym!

But did you know training your back come with a long list of benefits, as well as just looking good!

Back exercises strengthen common weak spots leading to better posture, preventing injury and correcting lower-body imbalances.

The muscles in your upper- and mid-back help stabilize your shoulder joints. The stronger and more stable your shoulders, the more weight you can lift in just about every upper-body exercise.

Back exercises are great for strengthening and sculpting your arms and abs. Whenever you lift a weight like in a row or a pull-up; you are also training your arm muscles and strengthening your core.

Your metabolism increases when you work on your back because your posterior chain contains big muscle groups. The more muscles you train, the higher your metabolism, the more fat you burn.

Great back exercises to sculpt and define are

Pull-ups

Bent Over Row

Inverted Row

Renegade Row

Tips When Training

Perfect You Form –Always work with good form to train the right muscles and prevent injury. When working the back think ‘chest up, shoulders back’ Focus on your back and triceps doing the work and on using them in the exercise.

Never Do Stagnant Workouts -keep mixing up your routines and doing different variations of back exercises for best results. (Easy to do as a member of Evo!)

Avoid Momentum – if you’re using your whole body to swing or lift then you are not focused on using your back muscles, control the movement to see the benefit and prevent injury.
