One thing that I find so common with my members at The Evolution Project, Camberley and a lot of people I know (including myself) is how hard we judge ourselves. It is heart-breaking!
Why is it so much easier to focus on the negatives and what we are not doing right/could do better then the incredible things we do/achieve every single day!?
Do we really appreciate how hard we try in our training session?
Do we truly appreciate a kind word we say or receive from others?
Do we appreciate how much of ourselves we give to our loved ones?
Do we appreciate ‘down time’ rather then feel guilty for doing nothing?
Living a life judging (both yourself and others) can keep you within your self-induced prison bars and prevent you from being free to connect with others on a deeper level-which, lets face it, is something we all want to feel –love and connection!
When you lessen the power of judgment – you welcome a lot more love, happiness and gratitude into your life and challenges do not feel so tough to face!
Observe
When a negative thought about yourself or others enters your mind, observe this thought or emotion and take a step back. Do you or do they deserve this negative judgment- or do you need to show more love and compassion?
When we judge, it is usually because we are coming from a place of fear, suffering, lack of love and lack of self-worth.
Take some deep breaths, let the negativity subside and show kindness with a thought, a word, a hug, a smile – a beautiful positive gesture-relaxing your mind and body in the situation and increasing your well-being!
Compassion
No one is perfect 100% of the time. Making ‘mistakes’ is how we grow, learn and evolve. These moments help us discover who we are. Experiences are there to make us develop as a person, to find our way and to help us reach the places we have chosen to go. Choose to see your past as lessons that you have evolved from in order to grow stronger, more positive and more successful!
Forgive
Holding on to a grudge builds a protective wall around our true selves, guards our wounded egos and leaves us more exposed and fearful of being judged in the future.
Mother Theresa said, “If you judge people, you have no time to love them.” If you are judging yourself, how can you connect and learn self-love that can lift your spirit and bring you happiness and joy wherever you are on your journey?
I challenge you to make the journey of observing instead of judging, to have compassion, to forgive others and most importantly, to forgive yourself!
The world is full of enough judgment, focus on being yourself, your highest self – to give yourself the courage to love yourself regardless of our flaws and to feel totally free.
The moment you feel judgment coming from you, pause and ask yourself, is this who I want to be? Do I deserve this? How can I shine with love!
