You may be training hard, eating healthy and drinking lots of water but are you really getting the protein you need in your diet?
Protein is a important part of a healthy balanced lifestyle, especially when you are training and trying to achieve changes with your physique.
Healthy protein consumption helps your muscles to repair and recover after training, helps maintain your efforts and also aids in developing your body.
Signs You May Be Lacking In Protein
Weakness – Muscle weakness/loss/soreness may be due to not eating enough protein, when you do not eat enough, your body will break down your muscle to use as fuel and energy – this slows your recovery rate after training and slows your metabolism down too!
Tiredness – Many things cause tiredness – sleep, overworked, dehydration… but lack of protein could also be to blame. A healthy balanced diet including protein helps to regulate your sugar levels, keeping levels steady, energy up and tiredness at bay!
Cravings –Protein regulates your blood sugar and glucose levels, which helps you to maintain and continue to see results when losing body fat. Protein with each meal means you are less likely to have sugar highs and lows and helps put a stop to cravings!
Fuzzy Brain – Balanced blood sugar is essential for staying focused. Protein balances blood sugar levels and prevents glucose levels fluctuating. Protein helps keep your mind clear and switched on!
If you feel any of the above on a regular basis, have a look at how much protein you eat (A complete protein with every meal is essential when training) and the quality/source of protein you are consuming.
My personal protein sources are – Raw Organic Vegan Protein Powder, Spirulina, Bee Pollen, Hemp, Chia Seeds, Quinoa and Organic Free Range Eggs.
