Gemma-Marie Llewellyn -Director and Nutritional Specialist

I am the Head Coach and Nutritional Specialist at Evo. I have a huge determination and focus to help empower men and women in fitness and to encourage us to support and champion each other.

I have always been extremely passionate about fitness and helping others so being a trainer was the most natural step for me to take. I dedicate my time training people using the best functional skills and tools that give them the body and confidence they have been searching for.

To me, good nutrition is not something you have to do, it is what your body deserves in order for you to live life fully energised and uplifted. It is important to me to educate clients in healthy sustainable eating. Well-being is of the body, health and mind and I help develop clients in all areas. I believe that with the right direction this lifestyle is fun and the benefits – unbelievably rewarding!

Jay Penson – Team Manager & Advanced Physique Coach

From an early age I have loved sports and exercise and rather than just one sport I would try a wide range including football, rugby, basketball, karate and athletics. That all stopped when I moved and went to college and over the space over 18 months my fitness dropped drastically and I gained over 2 stone in weight. It felt like it happened overnight but I didn’t want this for myself and even though it felt like a long road ahead in just a few weeks after making changes to my lifestyle, being diet and exercise, I noticed the weight dropping off and my fitness returning.

Here I am nearly 10 years later realising there really is no limits and just like my sport years I love most aspects of it from strength training, circuits, road cycling, running, group workout. I have been a personal trainer since 2008. I get to do my hobby every day and through what I have learnt from the industry and from my own experiences help others reach their goals and find their true potential.

I believe that what we do here doesn’t just get you results but the tools to change your life for the better. Just do what I did and give it a try to find out for yourself, it only took me one session.

Sam Wade – Advanced Physique Coach

Possibly the best thing about being a personal trainer is getting to witness the incredible journeys and transformations you get to help you clients go through. Here at Evo I get the opportunity to see and help push hundreds of people through these amazing transformations and to see the sense of achievement on their faces once they have worked for the body they have always desired. I believe that is if doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you and I am here to make sure you walk out of our doors better than the person you were the day before.

I have been in the fitness industry for 4 years and in that time have graduated from University with a degree in Sport Science and Human Performance. My degree has given me the opportunity to work with some great athletes and great coaches. Like all of our members I am always trying to better myself and have recently got in to Olympic Weightlifting. In weightlifting I have discovered a new passion and I am continuing my development in this area by training to become a fully qualified strength and conditioning coach.

The things I have learnt in my degree put me in a great position to help you reach your goals and I want to use this knowledge I have gained to help you be the best you possible.

Oliver Leonard – Advanced Physique Coach

'I am an Advanced Physique Coach at The Evolution Project. My job is to make sure every member here at The Evolution Project get the results they’re after, and that they are having the time of their life whilst doing it.

Sports and fitness has always played a pivotal role in my life. From the age of 15 years old, I was traveling over Europe competing for Great Britain as a junior international sprint swimmer. I was on the podium of the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2011, participated in the 2012 Olympic Torch Relay, broke 5 different Junior British Records and won numerous International and National level competitions. From 12 years old, I would train for up to six hours each day everyday, and every second was worth it for the results that followed.

I understand how challenging exercise can be physically and mentally, but that’s part of the fun! Most people do not realise – or, truly believe – what our bodies are capable of. Honestly, it’s pretty incredible. But it’s your mind that you have to convince. Once you have that radical shift in mentality, it’s amazing how the rest of the world opens up to you – and that’s what we’re here at The Evolution Project to make you achieve. Growing up I have been fortunate enough to try a multitude of sports, however only two have stuck with me which are swimming and skiing. Both of these have played a big part in my life. From the age of 10 I have been swimming competitively and I have been skiing since the age of 5. There is nothing better than the feeling of freedom on the mountain or the excitement of competing at a big competition.
My background in sports has led me in the direction where I would like to be involved with it for the rest of my life. I am currently in my final year of a sport science degree whilst working at Evo. Doing both at the same time has taught me so much and has made it possible to apply all the knowledge I have learnt into helping others achieve their goals. Late in the evenings I am the strength and conditioning coach for Hart swimming club. Doing this gives me the chance to work with some great athletes, pushing some elite swimmers to their limits in the gym to maximise performance in the pool.
I personally believe that enjoyment is the most important factor when exercising. Do what exercise YOU like and what makes YOU feel good. The more you enjoy it, the more you are going to do it and when you start to enjoy exercise its hard to go wrong. This is why I like Evo, it provides a great atmosphere with a great team to help you get the most out of your training and enjoy it as much as possible.

Tracy Humphries - Admin Manager

Unlike my colleagues, I was never interested in sport growing up and certainly had no interest in exercise! After having my first daughter, she became the centre of my world and I knew that I had to be the best Mum I could be! It took me a very long time to work out that in order to be the best Mum I could be, I also needed to be the best version of me that I could be. When she was 2 and a half years old I found an advert that has since changed my life. I turned up to Evolution Project hoping for a miracle. I definitely found one.

I took part in an 8 week challenge, not really thinking too much about what would happen following the challenge but I gave it everything I had and 8 weeks later I was a different woman. I lost 18lb, dropped 2 dress sizes and with it, I gained an infinite amount of self-esteem and my fitness grew from strength to strength. A few months later I fell pregnant with our second daughter and I was determined I would continue with the great advances I had made with my training! I continued to workout until just 3 days before I had her. After a few months off, I was back at Evo and within a few weeks, I took on a second challenge. I’m now fitter than I’ve been in my life and even lighter than my pre pregnancy weight.

Whilst working at Evo, may aim is to be able to guide members with any background help and support they might need. Being a member as well as an Evo Team member I can empathise with what it’s like to push yourself through the classes and keep focused on your end goals. I can often be found tapping away on my laptop in the office but when I’m in class, come and say ‘Hi’ whilst I’m being put through my paces! I love meeting all of our Warriors!
